Why still run manual mills in 2026?
For quantity 1 with a couple of features, manual is faster and cheaper than programming a CNC cycle. Also for feature-add on existing production parts, modifications, and quick prototypes. It's a complement to CNC, not a replacement.
What manual mill capacity do you have?
Bridgeport-style vertical mills for typical prototype and one-off work. Envelope suits parts up to about 24" × 12" with appropriate work-holding. Larger work goes to the CNC platforms.
What tolerances can you hold on manual milling?
±0.001" is standard practice. Tighter with careful setup, DRO reading, and inspection. Every dimension inspected before parts leave the shop.
Do you offer prototype work?
Yes — manual mills are ideal for prototypes where design might iterate. Faster turnaround, no CAM programming, easy to adjust between parts.
Can you modify existing production parts?
Yes — feature-add and modifications are common manual mill work. Send the part and drawings for the added feature. We hold datums off the existing part.
What's your turnaround on manual mill work?
For simple features: same-day to next-day. Complex modifications: 2–5 days. Emergency: prioritized on the schedule.
