What's your milling envelope?
Fadal VMC 4020: 40" × 20" × 20" travels (X/Y/Z). YCM TV-188 B: 74" × 39" × 30" travels — one of the largest envelopes in East Texas. Rotary indexing available on both for 4th-axis work.
Can the Fadal really handle Inconel?
Yes — for moderate metal removal. 15 HP spindle is on the light side for aggressive Inconel roughing, but with sharp coated carbide, trochoidal toolpaths, and disciplined feeds, it's a cost-effective platform for oilfield-scale Inconel milling parts. Bigger jobs go to the YCM.
What tolerances do you hold on milled features?
±0.0005" on critical dimensions with fresh tooling and CMM verification. True-position and profile tolerances per drawing. Reliable geometric tolerances on complex 3D features.
Do you offer trochoidal roughing for pocket milling?
Yes — standard practice for Inconel and Super Duplex pockets. Radial DOC 10–20% of tool diameter, aggressive feed, small step-over. Prevents chip packing that would otherwise destroy tools and finishes.
What's your typical lead time on milled parts?
Simple parts in stocked material: 2–5 days. Complex aerospace or oilfield parts with FAI: 1–3 weeks. Full production runs: 3–5 weeks. Rush and emergency work available.
Do you machine to AS9100 / API standards?
We machine to the tolerances and finishes those specs call for, and every job carries full material traceability, MTRs, and first-article inspection with CMM data. But be clear on the distinction: B&R is not AS9100-registered and not an API-licensed facility. If your buyer requires parts from a registered or monogrammed shop, that's a different vendor. If they require parts machined to print at that class of tolerance with full traceability, that's us.
