API 6A Machining — Wellhead & Completion Components
API 6A tolerances aren't a stretch for us — they're the daily job. B&R Productions machines wellhead and completion equipment components to the dimensions, finishes, and material specs the standard actually requires.
What we machine to API 6A
Wellhead bodies, tubing and casing hangers, bonnets, adapters, flange faces with acceptable ring-groove finishes, valve bodies and internals, seat pockets, and mating hardware. We machine forgings and bar stock in the alloys the standard calls out.
Materials we routinely work in
4130 and 4140 (75K and 110K yield), 8630, 17-4 PH, F22 and F91 duplex forgings, Inconel 718 and 625, and 316/17-4 for internals. Certified material with heat and lot traceability on every job.
Inspection package you can hand to your quality manager
First-article inspection with dimensional layout. In-process gauging. Final CMM verification of all critical dimensions. Surface finish measured, not estimated. Documented material traceability. If you need a specific ITP or PPAP-style package, we'll build to it.
Who we work with
Wellhead OEMs, valve manufacturers, completion tool builders, and rig contractors across the Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, and Gulf Coast. Legacy-parts work for operators keeping older equipment in service is a large share of our book.

Frequently asked questions
Do you machine API 6A wellhead and completion components?
Yes — bodies, bonnets, adapters, hangers, valve internals, and mating surfaces are routine.
Can you handle high-strength material orderings (75K, 110K, higher)?
Yes. We machine forgings and bar stock in the standard's alloys and yield grades, with heat and lot traceability documented on every job.
Do you provide material and inspection certifications?
Yes — heat/lot traceability, first-article inspection reports, CMM data, and surface finish measurements. Customer-specific ITPs and PPAP-style packages supported.
What tolerances do you hold on API 6A components?
±0.0005" routine, tighter on request. Ring-groove and other sealing surfaces are measured, not estimated.
