Frequently asked questions
6061 vs 7075 — which for my part?
6061 for weldability, corrosion resistance, and moderate strength. 7075 for high strength (nearly 2x yield) but poorer weldability and corrosion. Aerospace primary structural: 7075. General industrial: 6061.
Do you machine large 6061 plate work?
Yes — 6061-T651 stress-relieved plate is common for aerospace and industrial jigs. Fadal + YCM VMCs handle up to 74" × 39" × 30" envelope.
